WELCOME..
...to my storeroom of pictures, sacred art, pop culture memorabilia, various collections that have grown into accumulations, which are threatening to fill up my house. I deemed it practical to store some of my stuff--now on the verge of overflow--here.
...to my ramblings and roamings, pursuits and passions, love for roots and traditions and for all things Kapampangan. The unravelling of memory has never been this fun.

If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that. (James 4:15)

As we look ahead with God firmly in view, we can face the future with confidence in His loving plan.

God holds the future in His hands With grace sufficient day by day, through good or ill He gently leads, If we but let Him have His way. —Rohrs

Those who know Christ as Savior can face the future with joy.

A BLESSED SUNDAY TO YOU, MY DEAREST FRIEND!

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” (Romans 4:18)

Dear Lord, You are faithful forever! I will serve You no matter what happens to me. I will commit my life to Your cause. I surrender all my worries about the future because You are always in control of my life. Amen!

A BLESSED SUNDAY TO YOU, MY FRIEND!

With lots of love,

BTW, you can't buy a new ivory santo here and bring it to the U.S., it's against the law. You can buy antique ivory, but you need a certification from the National Museum (it was made over 100 years ago), to be able to bring it out.

Hi, o,k, thats fine, maybe a carver could make something for me if thats possible. Look foward to hearing from you. Thanks again.
arcastro57 wrote on Sep 22, '11
There are many restorers of wooden santos here, like Mr. Francisco Vecin of Makati and Mr. Thomas Joven of Pampanga province. Woodpaste statues here are nonexistent, so I don't think you would find restorers of those sort here.Sorry, but they don't sell restored items. There are carvers as well who make new statues for sale. and there are commercial shops that sell generic santos. I will have to e-mail you their contact e-mails as some of them are private people who will not take calls, except by appointment. Thanks.

Hi thanks for your quick response. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. Sorry I wasn't clear I was wondering if either restorer does restoring of wood statues and woodpaste statues? and also do they sell statues that are fully restored and ready to go? Preferably a blessed mother statue made of Ivory? If you could somehow see if its possible for me to be able to get in contact with them via either by email or phone or whatever, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much! Sincerely: vincent contreras

Who are you referring to? Restorer of ivories or large processional santos?
vc1966 wrote on Sep 20, '11
Hello Im Vincent Contreras and I first want to say I'm not too sure how this works but, what I want to ask you is if you could send me some info about some of the artist that restored your Santos because I really like there work and I want to see if they can help me for some statues that I want restored. Thank You! I would really appreciate your response. I'm from California.

"Let us try to know the Lord. He will come to us as surely as the day dawns, as surely as the spring rains fall upon the earth." (Hosea 6:3)

As the Lord inspires times of blessings in our lives, be open to it. God wants to bless us so receive it freely. Jesus declares that He came to give us life and have it to the fullest!

A blessed weekend to all,
my beautiful family in Christ!

Love and Peace,

"I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever." (Ezekiel 37:26)

If you're looking for someone who will always be there, you can stop looking now. Just cry out, "Jesus." He is already there!

GOOD DAY, MY DEAREST FRIENDS!

'dropping by to say hello! Wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you my friends!

As apostles of Christ we could have been a burden to you, but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.
(1 Thessalonians 2:6-8)

Christians are never truly alone because we are fortunate to have God's gracious watch care over our lives, as well as that of the Church. This type of caring can provide the strength needed for a believer to endure anything.

Thank you so much for the love and care.....I love you friend!

Peace be with you,
Maria

"No one ever spoke the way this man does," the guards declared. (John 7:46)

When I don't feel well, I say,
"I am healed!"

When I think I don't have enough money, I say,
"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want."

when things go wrong, I say,
"I am more than a conqueror!"

I do all these because that's how Gos sees us -
healthy, lacking in nothing and victorious.

No author has spoken to us this way before,
Have you read his book?

Lord, we've been listening to so many voices, neglecting the voice that really matters-Yours! We choose now to hear Your voice and heed Your Words.
Change us that we may serve You more faithfully. Amen!

Shalom...peace be with you!
Happy Weekend, my dearest friend!

Hugs,
Maria

The artists unfortunately are not listed in any art book. Manila Hotel hoever, used to have an in-house art shop/gallery, so these must contracted artists.

Hi Alex. I have two paintings signed by a "Moran". The first is entitled "Fiesta Pavilion Manila Hotel" dated 3-1-47, and the second is "Copiadopor" dated 6-1-48. I am currently researching about the painter and I am finding it difficult to get specific information on him/her. I was able to stumble upon your site while researching and I am wondering if you could help me. I would love to send you a photo of the two paintings.

Cindy, Romeo Enriquez was a Filipino artist who painted in the realist tradition and whose specialty was making portraits. He did major commissions from San Miguel Corp. and his artworks were turned into calendars. He used to have an atelier along Mabini St., in Manila, the enclave of conservative artists, known collectively as the Mabini Group, who are known for their commercial art that catered to tourists and home decorators. I am sorry but I am not an expert in giving estimates--but theres a small Enriquez painting now on ebay that's being sold for over a thousand dollars by a Philippine seller (but once contacted, they were willing to bring to down to $800).

Hi. I found your page while researching an artist and thought you may be able to help me. I have an oil painting by Romeo Enriquez signed and dated 1963. It measures approx. 36"H x 46"W (framed). I can't seem to find much info on Enriquez. I would like to know how much my painting is worth. You can contact me at tigermom3405@yahoo.com. I can send a photo, but not sure how to post one here. Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cindy
